Tony Mira, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer

Tony Mira founded a physician practice management company in 1979 and grew the company to become one of the largest in the country.  Based on a vision of offering customizable solutions to healthcare organizations. In 2005, Mr. Mira founded the company now known as MiraMed Global Services.

Michael O'Boyle, President

Michael O’Boyle serves as President of MiraMed Global Services. As such, he oversees the strategic growth of the MiraMed Family of Companies. A seasoned senior executive in the healthcare industry, Mr. O’Boyle has experience as Chief Executive Officer, President, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer and Operating Partner for esteemed companies such as Pamplona Capital Management, Parallon Business Solutions, UnitedHealth Networks (United Healthcare), the Cleveland Clinic, MedStar Health and others. O’Boyle’s varied experience in the healthcare industry, as well as his business credentials and financial acumen, make him well suited to lead MiraMed’s Family of Companies.

Sue Mira, Chief Operating Officer

Sue Mira serves as Chief Operating Officer for MiraMed Global Services. Ms. Mira has been an administrative director at MiraMed for over 20 years. She is responsible for operational performance, overseeing contract negotiations, developing business partnerships and building client relationships that provide strong foundation for the company.

Christine Patterson, MBA, Chief Financial Officer

Christine Patterson is an experienced senior level finance executive for MiraMed Global Services with CFO, treasury, consulting experience working with public, private and regulated companies in the healthcare and other service organizations. Ms. Patterson has over 15 years of healthcare experience providing expertise to organizations on mergers, acquisitions, IPO’s, building infrastructure, start-up in healthcare companies. Prior to joining MiraMed, Ms. Patterson held senior level roles at various service organizations with revenues in excess of $3.5 Billion. Ms. Patterson a native of Michigan earned MBA from a private university in Arizona and is active member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association and American College of Healthcare Executives.

Neda Ryan, Esq., In-House Compliance Counsel

Neda Ryan, Esq., serves as In-House Compliance Counsel with MiraMed Global Services. Ms. Ryan has experience in all areas of healthcare law, including healthcare transactional and corporate matters; healthcare litigation matters; providing counsel regarding compliance, fraud, abuse and reimbursement matters; and third party payer audit appeals. Prior to joining MiraMed, she devoted a portion of her practice to counseling physician group practices as well as healthcare billing and management companies on matters affecting their business practices. A graduate of the Michigan State University College of Law, Ryan is an accomplished speaker on various compliance-related topics aimed at corporate executives, physicians, physician groups, nurses, administrators, ambulatory surgery centers, and other facilities and healthcare professionals.

Joe Miserendino, Senior Vice President of Sales

Joe Miserendino is Senior Vice President of Sales for MiraMed Global Services and as such oversees all sales and sales support functions. With more than 20 years of agency and health care industry experience, Mr. Miserendino provides enhanced revenue cycle management solutions and has been particularly successful with system conversions, AR clean ups, day one billing projects and purchase portfolio. Prior to joining MiraMed in 2005, Miserendino was Sr. VP of Sales and VP of Operations for one of the world's largest provider of healthcare receivables management. In addition, Miserendino was Director of Business Development for two different publicly traded collection agencies. He is an active member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association and American Association of Healthcare Administrative Management.

Greg Fleckenstein, MBA, Senior Vice President of Business Relations

Greg Fleckenstein, MBA is the Senior Vice President of Business Relations for MiraMed Global Services and as such is responsible for strategic business development partnerships, technology and consulting company relationships, corporate accounts and large national health systems for the company. Fleckenstein has over 15 years’ experience serving healthcare technology and service organizations focused on the U.S. and international hospital markets. Prior to joining MiraMed, he served in various leadership positions in: sales, marketing, product management, business development and operations for several well-known, mid-sized technology/service providers and two large fortune 100 companies focused primarily on health information management and revenue cycle solutions. Fleckenstein holds a Masters of Business Administration from the University of North Carolina with a focus on international business management and is an active member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association, the American Healthcare Information Management Association and the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society.

Donna Perry, Vice President of Global Operations

Donna Perry, Vice President of Global Operations, has over 35 years’ experience in the healthcare industry. As such, she oversees the end-to-end Revenue Cycle Management process in the U.S. and off-shore operations. She is responsible for on-going process improvements and innovative technology that increased both staff efficiencies and quality scores.

Phil Solomon, Vice President of Marketing Strategy

Phil C. Solomon joined MiraMed in 2013 as Vice President of Marketing Strategy. As a senior leader, he is responsible for creating and executing sales and marketing strategies which drive new business development and client engagement for the company’s business process outsourcing and revenue cycle service lines. Mr. Solomon has over 25 years of experience consulting on a wide spectrum of healthcare initiatives for clinical and revenue cycle performance improvement. He has worked with many of the industry’s largest health systems developing executable strategies for revenue enhancement, expense reduction and clinical transformation. Mr. Solomon is a published author and featured speaker for the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), National Association of Healthcare Access Management (NAHAM) and the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS).

Angela Hickman, Vice President RA-HCC Strategy & Business

Angela Hickman is the VicePresident of RA-HCC Strategy & Business and has over 23 years of experience in healthcare. Her experience includes: clinical research, clinical workflow management and strategic implementation of EHR's & IS/IT, program management, project management, direct corporate compliance programs policies & procedures creation, clinical documentation improvement program development, and the legal and ethical use of electronic health records that supports continuity of care for patients. Developing EHR best practices for organizations that are consistent with strict privacy and security standards, determining meaningful metrics for tracking and predicting quality and outcomes organization-wide, maintaining a high level of collaboration and integrity crossing all domains of healthcare are a part of her wealth of experience. Angela gives much attention to learning and respecting the culture and needs of the client, by maintaining modesty throughout the project life cycle. Her experience consists of directing and managing programs and projects that are multi-faceted and complex. HIPAA and Compliance Mock Audits are one of her strengths. Having the ability to listen closely for the vision and mission that each client conveys. The goal is to exceed client expectations and manage, through the utilization of standard best practices, their vision, desired outcomes, objectives, resources, budget and expectations. Angela has provided education for over 5,900 providers and developed 44 specialty and sub specialty trainings on ICD-10-CM/PCS.

John Macko, Senior Vice President of Strategy

John Macko serves as Senior Vice President of Strategy for MiraMed Global Services and is responsible for broadening our global strategy and continuity across all brands; including: strategic initiatives, channel partnerships, MSO development, identifying mergers and acquisitions, and private label opportunities. Mr. Macko has over 20 years’ experience in healthcare services and transactional-based markets. Prior to joining MiraMed, he was CEO and partner in a national, healthcare focused, ARM company and multi-specialty physician billing company. There he was responsible for the divestiture, corporate restructuring, and acquisition which secured its present success. He also co-founded and developed Vision Financial, a national ARM and CRM company with multiple operational facilities in several industry verticals. Prior to starting his company, he successfully managed sales, client support services, operations, IT and analytics. Macko has the ability to accumulate new ideas, recognize new technologies and process improvements, and then helping incorporate them into the company’s existing culture.

Joe Antonacci, Senior Vice President of Operations

Joe Antonacci is Senior Vice President of Operations for MiraMed Revenue Group and Virtual Recovery in Lombard, Illinois. In this key role, Antonacci oversees the first party customer billing, third party collection and benefits approval operations based at MMRG’s Lombard headquarters. With more than 25 years of collection agency, medical collection, BPO and call center-based customer care experience; Mr. Antonacci provides proven leadership in all facets of call center operations and management. During his career, Antonacci has consistently managed key clients to top performance levels. He has also designed, developed and delivered world class employee instruction in call centers around the globe during his extensive and successful career. Prior to joining MiraMed in 2012, Mr. Antonacci served as a Director at two of the account receivable management industry’s largest agencies as well as Vice President of Sales for a leading provider of collection and customer care solutions. Joe Antonacci’s extensive experience in operations, sales and employee development make him an ideal leader to meet both patient experience and revenue growth expectations for both Miramed Revenue Group and Virtual Recovery. Mr. Antonacci holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from William Paterson University and is an active member of the American Collectors’ Association.

Denise M. Nash, MD, CCS, CIM, Vice President of Compliance and Education

Dr. Nash serves as Vice President of Compliance and Education for MiraMed Global Services and as such she handles all Compliance and Education needs including migration to ICD-10. She has more than 20 years’ experience in the healthcare industry. Nash has worked for CMS in hospital auditing and has expertise in negotiation and implementation of risk contracting for managed care plans. She has also worked with individuals as well as physician groups on utilization and PQRS management to improve financial performance for the risk-based contracts and Value Based Purchasing programs. Nash has past experience with episode of care data and patient management in the ACO environment. She has also worked with both hospitals and physician practices on the legal and financial aspects of adding new services to the respective facilities. Dr. Nash is a consultant on coding/compliance audits at physician practices, hospitals and has worked for insurance plans conducting second level appeals. Her past experience also included consulting for the Office of the Inspector General of New Hampshire in its Fraud and Abuse Division.

Sharon Hughes, Senior Vice President of Coding and Audit Services

Sharon Hughes, MBA, RHIA, CCS, Senior Vice President of Coding and Audit Services for MiraMed Global Services. Ms. Hughes provides supervision, allocation and management of coding and auditing resources. She develops and implements regular, effective education for compliance requirements, technical education and on-going training programs to ensure compliant and accurate coding of all accounts. Prior to joining MiraMed, Hughes served as a coding and compliance consultant to several large hospital systems throughout the country. Ms. Hughes holds a Masters of Business Administration degree from Louisiana State University, a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Health Information Management from University of Louisiana at Lafayette and holds the title of Registered Health Information Administrator and Certified Coding Specialist from the American Health Information Management Association.
